Dear Carole,

First of all, an important notification: the BioConvS' manager Chiara is taking a few months off for maternity leave. As there is no substitute during her leave, some DIM actions will be put on hold until the second semester of 2026. Have a look below at what it means for our activity in detail!

But we are not stopping completely! Preparations for the annual symposium are still going at full speed and, with the selection of the poster presentations, the program is now complete!

Our Innovation Day 2025 will be held again at the Conseil Régional d'Ile-de-France on November 26th!

BioConvS activities are slowed down
As the project manager prepares to start her maternity leave, we need to adapt BioConvS activities in her absence. Grant calls won't be impacted (nor will any Innovation initiative carried out by the innovation manager, Carole) but some other activities will.

Join the BioWeek
For one (Bio)Week, Paris will be transformed into the global stage for biological innovation, with more than 20 independent events highlighting the power of biology to address challenges in health, climate, and industry. The week will include the iGEM Grand Jamboree, Synthetic Biology 8.0, the BioInnovation Summit, and many networking and public outreach activities. DIM BioConvS is proud to support this collective initiative connecting scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, and the public to celebrate the growing impact of biology on society.

Few spots still available for our innovation trainings
BioConvS is offering to its network access to the LS LEAD training in innovation in Life Sciences and a few spots are still available for the following online sessions:

Friday Oct 10 at 14h: "Comment intégrer le réglementaire dans la stratégie développement ?"

Thursday Nov 6: "Comment développer votre médicament en thérapie cellulaire ?"

Matchmaking Tandem – Find Your Cofounder for a Deeptech Project 

This event connects scientists, entrepreneurs, and professionals interested in joining or co-founding Deeptech startups. Organized by Find Your Cofounder, it facilitates targeted networking and partnerships to turn high-potential research into innovation.

Call for Speakers – Paroles de Chercheuses et Chercheurs

The successful Regional outreach program bringing researchers into Île-de-France high schools for interactive 2-hour talks is looking for its next coort of speakers! Goal: showcase research careers, spark vocations, with a focus on encouraging girls. 

A Lab Technician position is avaliable in the lab of Nathalie Rolhion on the microbiology and molecular biology of the microbiota. More info

Census of BioConvS labs
Starting January 2024, all labs affiliated or wanting to participate in a DIM BioConvS activity will have to be registered. Why? Most importantly because we want to build a cartography of biotherapy, bioproduction and synthetic biology in Ile-de-France and you want to make sure that you're on it!
