PEPR Biotherapies’ first call for projects

The 15 April 2024, the PEPR Biotherapies and Bioproduction of Innovative Therapies published its first call for projects (AAP) with the aim of strengthening the scientific axes already established within the programme and supported by the targeted projects that began in 2023. The PEPR’s main objectives are to strengthen existing communities and encourage interaction between them..

The aim of this call for proposals is to support original and innovative research projects on the PEPR’s 4 axes:

• Anticipating the growth and industrial-scale manufacture of cell therapies and the emergence of tissue therapies (regenerative medicine);
• Accelerating the deployment of gene therapies;
• Developing engineering for biotherapies and bioprocesses;
• Supporting emerging fields in biotherapies.

This call is open to all French academic research teams interested in the described topics, regardless of their institutional affiliation or research area, including teams that are not previously specialised in these areas.

The aim of this call for proposals is to form research projects with an early level of maturity (TRL1 to 4). The selected projects will have to involve at least three teams, will have a maximum duration of 4 years and will receive funding of between €1 million and €2.5 million. The indicative budget allocated to this call for proposals is €13 million.
